This enables UTokyo to enhance the mobility of its academic and administrative staff and students, both at the graduate and undergraduate levels, all in an effort to gear UTokyo’s excellent educational and research activities to a more international environment, as well as expand UTokyo’s presence and increase its profile globally.Top Project Overview This project builds on the various projects that existed in various departments through the strategic partnership frameworks between 2014 and 2016. In addition to promoting interdisciplinary research and education with the support of the university’s administration bureau, it also aims to develop working frameworks for, among others, the acquisition of external funding by creating and strengthening sustainable relationships for the future. As of March 2024, UTokyo holds strategic partnership agreements or memorandums of understanding with the eight primary strategic partner universities shown below. The Strategic Partnerships Project has been funded by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, as a part of the “Top Global Universities Projects” until the 2023 fiscal year.
